Candidate Eligibility for School Board Trustee

• Residence – 1 year in state and 6 months in school district prior to filing deadline. (Texas Elec. Code, Section 141.001)
• Age – 18 years old
• Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline.
• A person is ineligible to serve as a member of the board of a district if the person has been convicted of a felony or an offense under Penal Code 43.021 (Ed. Code 11.066)

Application Process/Deadline

• Candidate filing period to file application for place on the ballot is Wednesday, January 17, 2024 to Friday, February 16, 2024 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Friday, February 16, 2024 only 8:00pm to 5:00 pm)
• All applications filed are public records and open to inspection upon request.
• Complete forms must be filed in the Administration Building at 1206 N 17^th St., Honey Grove, Tx 75460.
