The Governor just extended until May 4th for statewide school closure. It looks like the County is going to a shelter in place tomorrow starting at midnight.  We don't have all of the information for the county shutdown yet.  They are voting on this tomorrow at three.  With all of this in place we are not going to pass out packets Friday.  We will be mailing packets out this Friday.  Online instruction will stay the same.  We will still be serving meals from 9:30 to 11:00 everyday.  If you have been receiving a backpack of food, you can get this Friday at meal pickup.  Please stay in contact with your teachers.  We love and miss all of you.  Stay safe.

Students and Guardians,

Thank you for everything you are doing during this difficult time for instruction. We appreciate everyone that has reached out to our faculty.  If you haven't made contact with the school please do. We have tried to make contact multiple times with all our kiddos.  If you haven't turned in work, you should have by now. This is a new experience for all and we need everyone’s help to make it work. You should have all the contact info you need. If you don't have the info please call the school.  We still need this work for grade promotion and attendance.  Thank you for all you do.

March 17, 2020

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time, and we appreciate the flexibility you have shown to our school district. At 1:00 pm today, I met with several county superintendents. After this meeting, I decided that it is in Honey Grove ISD's best interest to extend our closure through April 3, 2020. During this time, we will continually monitor this very fluid situation. During the week of March 30, 2020, we will make a decision to either extend the closure or reopen April 6, 2020.

Our staff at Honey Grove ISD has been diligently planning for your students' instruction while they are away from school. We will be ready to roll out this instructional plan this Friday, March 20, 2020. This plan will be either paper-based with educational instructional materials or will be in an online format. Our teachers are currently reaching out to all families to communicate which method your student(s) will be receiving. If your student is receiving a paper-based format of instruction, then this will need to be picked up each Friday of our closure from 4-6 pm in front of our administration building. If your student is receiving any online instruction, then your student will be receiving information from individual teachers periodically. Our teachers will be explaining to our students how this process is going to work in regard to fulfilling academic obligations. The best way to communicate with teachers is through email, Google Classrooms, or a phone call to the school starting this Friday. The assignments that will be rolled out beginning this Friday will be important for your student(s) to complete in order to receive credit.

Please see the survey link posted on our website and Facebook earlier today regarding technology access in your homes. If you have not been able to complete this yet, it is important that you make time to do so.

If you are a part of the Beta backpack program, then you will have the opportunity to pick up your backpacks each Friday of our closure from 4-6 pm in front of the administration building.

We have had several families contact us regarding school meals. Please remember that everyone has the opportunity to pick up a  FREE meal each weekday from 9:30 am -11:00 am.

Once again, thank you for your flexibility.
