In the midst of the crazy, chaotic end of a school year, Honey Grove High School students and faculty members paused for a moment to honor a ‘Home Town Hero.’ This recognition was bestowed on former HGHS student Chance Horner by the Modern Woodmen of America (MWA) association. Representative Diane Stegall, the area MWA financial planner, made the presentation. Chance was given a certificate and a check for $100, which he must “pay forward” by donating to a charity of his choice.
Recently, Chance Horner made a true sacrifice and gave one of his kidneys to his father David Horner, a former coach at HGHS and local owner of Mo’s Trophies.
